healing place - 1996 laurie jones, healing place

once upon a time in the land of grits and big hats, a very naive laurie jones recorded an album. she was so excited to be able to record that she really jumped into something that would later not only be heartbreaking, but a financial disaster.

to make a (very) long story short...she got ripped off, lied to and she now has a zillion of these little bastards (cds) in her basement. THIS is the project she hopes you never play for your friends, never bring up in public places and for God's sake never request one of these songs at a live show. however, this project was a learning experience. if it had not been for "healing place"...there would never have been a "CRASH".

epilogue was written by laurie in 1988 and recorded with fredi monteux in 2001. it appears as the final track on the second puzzle monkey album, bless our furry little heads. laurie would like to share it with you here.

silent night - the hopedelic mix is a very special holiday single recorded by laurie jones and fredi monteux. borrowing the melody from the christmas classic, they reworked the words to reflect the unique atmosphere of the world as we approach the holidays in 2001. read the press release here.

laurie was proud to participate in no more domestic violence, a benefit CD single by puzzle monkey and friends, featuring song for andrea and piece in c. the no more domestic violence project is part of a worldwide effort to shed light on a problem affecting the lives of millions of women, men and children of all races, nationalities and economic strata. read the press release here.
